RVTC Youth Studio is proud to present its spring 2026 production: Channeling Grimm by Tracey Wells.
This show promises to be a fun examination of acting out silly TV cliches through the lens of recognizable Grimm fairy tales. The show will utilize traditional stage performance alongside some recorded elements just like a TV show! At the heart of the show are two friends, Cameron and Jaime, who get creative with an honors English writing assignment on the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm. Cameron doesn’t know what to write for his assignment, but luckily, Jaime has the solution... watch TV versions of the tales! But when Cameron points the unusual looking remote at the screen expecting Netflix or Apple TV, instead they find the wackiest assortment of fairy-tale themed programming! There’s a Project Runway style competition show called “Project Ballgown,” a Frog Prince soap opera called “The Green and the Beautiful,” a game show hosted by Magic Mirror called, ”Who’s The Fairest One of All?,” and a sitcom starring Rumplestiltskin! The teens also find news stories, a Law and Order style show, a movie trailer, and of course, commercials!
Auditions will be held during the first rehearsal. Students will read from a prepared script, and everyone will get a part and more than likely will have multiple things to do during this wacky show. More information will be provided to parents/guardians prior to the first rehearsal. RVTC welcomes young actors with any level of experience.
Channeling Grimm will be directed by RVTC Board Member Brian Klosa. There are 25 spots available.
The first rehearsal will take place at West Middle School on January 10, 2026 from 9 am-noon. All rehearsals will take place on Saturday mornings. Dress rehearsal will take place on Wednesday March 18. Performances will take place on Friday March 20 and Saturday March 21 at 7 pm. Additionally, we will have a matinee on Saturday March 21 at 1 pm.
