About Summer Camps

Choose your experience with Shakopee Community Education this summer! Each week, we will offer a variety of exciting morning and afternoon enrichment camps, all conveniently located at Sweeney Elementary (with a few exceptions). Register for the Lunch Link option (supervised lunch break) to create a full day of fun.

Lunch Link

For families looking for full-day options, the Lunch Link program is a perfect way to connect morning and afternoon camps. Lunch Link provides a supervised lunch hour and recess. Students are required to bring their own lunch. A separate registration is required at a cost of $20 per week. Lunch Link is only offered M-Th for camps held at Sweeney Elementary. Please note, students may register for a morning camp along with Lunch Link for a 9am-1pm experience, or they may register for Lunch Link and an afternoon camp for a Noon-4pm experience.

Financial Assistance

Fees for camps may be reduced for youth residing in District 720 boundaries. For families experiencing financial hardship, each immediate family member may receive up to a 50% fee reduction on one Community Education class per catalog, unless otherwise noted. Please contact Chris at cyounger@shakopee.k12.mn.us to get more information.

Featured Courses

  • Shakopee Youth Cross Country

Do you have a child who likes to run or has a lot of energy? If yes, then the Shakopee Cross Country Youth Program is a perfect fit! We are excited to offer this program for our elementary and middle school students. Each participant will get exposure to cross country (both training and the fun that they can have on a cross country team later in life) that will help build their confidence, skills, and work ethic. Cross country is a sport where athletes run a longer distance on grass. Participants will learn a routine of warm-up drills, running workouts, and how to cool down properly. This program will also mix in fun games that focus on running and are common on high school cross country teams. Participants must bring running shoes and a water bottle to practices and meets. Meets eight times.
  • Flying Colors ACT Prep

This ACT Prep class is a great way for sophomores and juniors to prepare for the ACT. Taught by veteran instructors, this class covers the most commonly tested concepts, test-taking techniques and time-management strategies. Instructors can also answer any questions the students might have regarding when to take the ACT, how many times to test, and how to leverage a strong score to improve candidacy at target colleges. Included in the cost are two ACT practice tests, as well as a 150-page binder with helpful tips for a successful test-taking experience. Meets two times.
