Project Runway Camp
Week 4

Join us for this popular summer camp featuring all new projects! Participants will learn multiple hand and machine sewing techniques, and practice on basic projects, including a swimsuit coverup, mini messenger bag and earbud case. Participants will showcase their projects on the last day of class, then take everything home with them to walk the runway of everyday life. Family and friends are invited to the showcase. No experience necessary to participate. Students will also take home a personalized sewer’s handbook. Meets four times.

Nature Art & Science Camp
Week 4

In this summer camp, kids will learn about various art mediums through nature and how they connect to different principles of science. Depending on the weather, activities may include making charcoal sticks, exploring the color science of paint and dye, weaving fibers, creating animal footprints and more! Kids will benefit from creatively expressing themselves, while also learning about art, science and history. This camp is a mixture of indoor and outdoor activities, so be sure to dress for the weather and wear closed-toed shoes. Kids will be able to take home most of their creations. Meets four times.

Eco-Fashion Camp
Week 4

Our natural world has played a role in the clothes humans have worn since the beginning. Join a naturalist from EcoElsa to connect nature to current fashion by learning how to make dyes from plants and create designs based on nature, such as grass weaving. In addition, participants will explore how to make fashion more sustainable with upcycling and recycling activities. This is the perfect camp for kids who enjoy creating and problem-solving, while also incorporating themes of sustainability, body-positivity, and science! This camp is a mixture of indoor and outdoor activities so make sure kids dress for the weather in clothes they don't mind getting dirty and wear closed-toed shoes. Kids will take home most of their creations on the last day of class. Meets four times.

Horse Camp (Session 2)
Week 4

Crazy for horses? This three-day camp provides the perfect introduction to horses. Learn how to care for them, including bathing, brushing, leading and an introduction to riding. Each day includes horse-related activities, a craft, and games. This is a great camp to prepare your child to be safe and comfortable around horses. All camps are a half-day and held at Capall Stables in Lonsdale. There is an indoor arena in case of bad weather. Fee includes a snack each day and all craft supplies. Transportation is not provided. Meets three times. Parents/guardians are required to sign a camp waiver found at: www.dfperformancehorses.com/horse-camp. Bring waiver to first class.

Lunch Link: Week 4

Please note: participants must be registered for at least a morning or afternoon camp with Shakopee Community Education to be eligible to register for the Lunch Link program. Sign up for the Lunch Link program, and create a full day of fun for your child! Lunch Link takes place from 12-1pm on Monday-Thursday at Sweeney Elementary, and it is the perfect solution for families looking for full-day options. By providing a supervised lunch and recreation hour, Lunch Link connects morning and afternoon camps. The Lunch Link registration fee is in addition to camp registration, and students are required to bring their own lunch.
