Crochet & Chill: Make a Amigurumi

Summer Camps & Programs / Week 1 -
Summer 2026

A fun and creative half-day camp where you'll learn how to craft your very own squeezable, squishable amigurumi stress reliever! Amigurumi is the Japanese art of crocheting or knitting small, stuffed yarn creatures or objects

In this session, we’ll guide you through the basics of amigurumi construction, including working in the round, increasing/decreasing, and shaping soft, adorable forms perfect for squeezing your stress away. You'll leave with a finished (or nearly finished) stress-relief frog and the confidence to start your next amigurumi project.

In this class, you’ll learn how to crochet in the round using the magic ring technique, basic shaping techniques used in amigurumi, how to stuff and finish your plush securely and tips for adding personality with simple facial features and embellishments

What’s included:

  • A printed pattern
  • Yarn and stuffing materials
  • Crochet hook (optional to bring your own if you have a favorite)

Jill Lindsay Vaughn Boon

I love to be creative and it has taken all forms from performing to sewing, painting, embroidery, jewelry making, and so much more. I have two kiddos who are also very creative and I try to keep finding new ways to engage them in art. I have a passion for bringing creativity to those who don't always feel crafty, but enjoy a night with friends and trying something different. I can't wait to see you in a class!
