PROGRAM UPDATE: As of July 1, 2024, there is no longer a requirement for participants to take an 8-hour class. First-time participants can take the 4-hour class and repeat every three years to qualify for the discount.
Hand-building in ceramics allows for a wide range of creative expression. You can create unique shapes, textures and forms using your hands and basic tools, fostering artistic exploration. In this class you'll learn techniques to create functional and decorative pieces using clay, glazes and various firing methods. Choose from vases, mugs, jewelry trays and much more. All experience levels are welcome and all supplies are included in the class fee. Meets four times.
Hi! I’m Heather Klein. I am 46 yrs old, and have been teaching art in Shakopee for 18 years!!! I really enjoy working with clay and other materials to make sculptures. I also love to learn new methods and then teach them to my students! I live in Burnsville with my two daughters. The oldest is a sophomore at Shakopee High School and the youngest is an eighth grader at East Middle School.
