Antique Appraisal Event
Have you ever wondered what your family heirlooms are worth? Join us for a thirty-minute appraising presentation followed by an appraisal of at least one item per participant. You'll be assigned a 10-minute time slot in the order you registered to have your item appraised. Once everyone has had their item valued, Certified Appraiser David Schlueter will examine additional items as time allows. Examples of items that can be appraised are antiques, fine jewelry, costume jewelry, precious gemstones, all art, and coins. This is for items you can easily carry. Please refrain from bringing firearms or Beanie Babies. Please name the one item you would like appraised on the registration form, and email photos of the item if you can, to estarke@shakopee.k12.mn.us at least one week prior to the event. Coffee and treats will be provided.
Mike Lynch's Minnesota Star Watch Party

Great constellation mythological stories will also be shared. This activity is great for all ages, and kids must be accompanied by an adult. Feel free to bring a lawn chair and blanket to make yourself comfy and enjoy the show!

Shakopee Youth Cross Country
Aug 12-16
Do you have a child who likes to run or has a lot of energy? If yes, then the Shakopee Cross Country Youth Program is a perfect fit! We are excited to offer this program for our elementary and middle school students. Each participant will get exposure to cross country (both training and the fun that they can have on a cross country team later in life) that will help build their confidence, skills, and work ethic. Cross country is a sport where athletes run a longer distance on grass. Participants will learn a routine of warm-up drills, running workouts, and how to cool down properly. This program will also mix in fun games that focus on running and are common on high school cross country teams. Participants must bring running shoes and a water bottle to practices and meets. They will practice six times and will have one meet (a one-mile race held on Aug 29 from 10am-Noon).
