Antique Appraisal Event
Have you ever wondered what your family heirlooms are worth? Join us for a thirty-minute appraising presentation followed by an appraisal of at least one item per participant. You'll be assigned a 10-minute time slot in the order you registered to have your item appraised. Once everyone has had their item valued, Certified Appraiser David Schlueter will examine additional items as time allows. Examples of items that can be appraised are antiques, fine jewelry, costume jewelry, precious gemstones, all art, and coins. This is for items you can easily carry. Please refrain from bringing firearms or Beanie Babies. Please name the one item you would like appraised on the registration form, and email photos of the item if you can, to estarke@shakopee.k12.mn.us at least one week prior to the event. Coffee and treats will be provided.
Mike Lynch's Minnesota Star Watch Party
Join former WCCO meteorologist Mike Lynch to watch the great celestial show over Shakopee! He will have giant telescopes aimed at Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, star clusters, galaxies, and more! Live video telescopes will also be available. Get to know constellations like The Big Bear, Cygnus the Swan, Pegasus the Winged Horse, and many others. Great constellation mythological stories will also be shared. This activity is great for all ages, and kids must be accompanied by an adult. Feel free to bring a lawn chair and blanket to make yourself comfy and enjoy the show!

Summer Camps & Programs
About Summer Camps Choose your experience with Shakopee Community Education this summer! Each week, we will offer a variety of exciting morning and afternoon enrichment camps, all conveniently located at Sweeney Elementary (with a few exceptions). Register for the Lunch Link option (supervised lunch break) to create a full day of fun. Lunch Link For families looking for full-day options, the Lunch Link program is a perfect way to connect morning and afternoon camps. Lunch Link provides a supervised lunch hour and recess. Students are required to bring their own lunch. A separate registration is required at a cost of $20 per week. Lunch Link is only offered M-Th for camps held at Sweeney Elementary. Please note, students may register for a morning camp along with Lunch Link for a 9am-1pm experience, or they may register for Lunch Link and an afternoon camp for a Noon-4pm experience. Financial Assistance Fees for camps may be reduced for youth residing in District 720 boundaries. For families experiencing financial hardship, each immediate family member may receive up to a 50% fee reduction on one Community Education class per catalog, unless otherwise noted. Please contact Chris at cyounger@shakopee.k12.mn.us to get more information.
