Antique Appraisal Event
Have you ever wondered what your family heirlooms are worth? Join us for a thirty-minute appraising presentation followed by an appraisal of at least one item per participant. You'll be assigned a 10-minute time slot in the order you registered to have your item appraised. Once everyone has had their item valued, Certified Appraiser David Schlueter will examine additional items as time allows. Examples of items that can be appraised are antiques, fine jewelry, costume jewelry, precious gemstones, all art, and coins. This is for items you can easily carry. Please refrain from bringing firearms or Beanie Babies. Please name the one item you would like appraised on the registration form, and email photos of the item if you can, to estarke@shakopee.k12.mn.us at least one week prior to the event. Coffee and treats will be provided.
Mike Lynch's Minnesota Star Watch Party
Join former WCCO meteorologist Mike Lynch to watch the great celestial show over Shakopee! He will have giant telescopes aimed at Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, star clusters, galaxies, and more! Live video telescopes will also be available. Get to know constellations like The Big Bear, Cygnus the Swan, Pegasus the Winged Horse, and many others. Great constellation mythological stories will also be shared. This activity is great for all ages, and kids must be accompanied by an adult. Feel free to bring a lawn chair and blanket to make yourself comfy and enjoy the show!

Video Production for YouTube
Jun 24-28
Learn how to create YouTube content in this four-day camp. Shoot videos, edit sound, and create an online presence with YouTube. In the first half of the camp, learn the tricks that pro filmmakers use for better shots, lighting, sound, and learn to use our film editing software. Then, in the second half of camp, students will work on a group unboxing or product review video. Participants will edit, add transitions, special effects, and insert a soundtrack. When they are finished, they can share their finished video with the world! Bring a USB drive (at least 8GB) to save your video on the last day. Meets four times.
