PROGRAM UPDATE: As of July 1, 2024, there is no longer a requirement for participants to take an 8-hour class. First-time participants can take the 4-hour class and repeat every three years to qualify for the discount.
Get ready for a hands-on journey through creativity, color and celebration! The Create and Celebrate youth enrichment series offers a delightful mix of food fun and imaginative crafting. Each class stands on its own as a unique experience, or you can bundle all four at a discounted rate for a season-long adventure of sweet treats and skill building.
Classes Include:
Hot Coco Bombs (Nov 25) - These glossy hot cocoa delights made with chocolate, marshmallows and sprinkles are truly an over-the-top way to level up your cocoa game! Once these decadent treats are plopped inside a mug full of warm milk, they open up to reveal the goodies inside! Join us to learn how to make these tasty marvels step-by-step.
Winter Wonderland Cake Pops (Dec 2) -You will learn how to combine just the right amount of cake crumbs and buttercream icing to create tasty cake pops in fun wintery designs! You will also learn to read a recipe and follow directions, how to melt candy melts and kitchen safety. At the end of the class, you will bring home beautifully decorated cake pops for your family and friends!
Fidgets, Games & Music Night (Dec 9) - Learn how to create candy and play some games using fidgets! In this class, we will be playing games, dancing, listening/making music and much more using fidgets. Everyone will bring home fidgets. Come and have a great time making new friends.
Snowman Cookie Decorating (Dec 16) - Have fun with your friends as you enjoy some winter-themed cookie decorating! Students will be using fondant or frosting (whichever they choose) in this class. At the end of the class, participants will bring home some beautifully decorated cookies for family and friends to enjoy. A fun activity is planned for when the cookies are drying.

Charlene is a licensed educator with over 25 years of experience teaching science in a classroom setting. During her career, she's taught a diverse selection of topics - including biology, math, chemistry, entomology, bird ecology, life science, physics and more. In addition to her work in classrooms across Minnesota, she's also taught abroad in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Today, she organizes a range of community education courses to help students across over 30 school districts discover the basis principles of science, technology, physics, and of course, baking and cake pop decoration.
