This beloved Norwegian delicacy is a staple at holidays, weddings, and other special occasions. If you’re Norwegian and never got Grandma’s recipe—or if you’re simply curious—this class is for you! You'll learn how to prepare lefse from scratch using both real potatoes and a modern version with instant potatoes. We'll cover dough-making, baking, storing, and serving tips, plus share a bit of lefse history and humor along the way. Enjoy warm samples with traditional fillings and take home finished lefse and dough to share. A $9 food supply fee is due to the instructor at class.
Laurel Severson is a former home economist in commercial food service and was a recipe tester and editing expert. She is a long-time Community Education instructor and students enjoy being actively involved in her classes.
