Step into the vibrant world of Native American powwows and explore the rich cultural traditions that bring communities together. This class offers an inclusive introduction to the music, dance, regalia, and meaning behind powwows, guided by Native perspectives. Learn about the history and modern-day significance of these gatherings, including etiquette, and the roles of drummers, dancers, and elders. Whether you're new to powwows or want a deeper understanding of Native culture, this class provides a respectful space for learning, reflection, and connection.No prior knowledge needed—open to all ages and backgrounds. Offered on a sliding fee scale, with all proceeds benefiting the Native American Parent Advisory Committee and its work in our community.
