Culinary STEM: Edible Petri Dishes

In this hands-on STEM class, young scientists will explore the fascinating realm of microorganisms by creating their own edible Petri dishes. We’ll simulate the shapes of bacteria using tasty ingredients and learn about the different types of microbes. Perfect for curious minds who love science, creativity and snacks. No lab coat required - just bring your imagination and appetite!

Charlene Bzdok

Charlene is a licensed educator with over 25 years of experience teaching science in a classroom setting. During her career, she's taught a diverse selection of topics - including biology, math, chemistry, entomology, bird ecology, life science, physics and more. In addition to her work in classrooms across Minnesota, she's also taught abroad in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Today, she organizes a range of community education courses to help students across over 30 school districts discover the basis principles of science, technology, physics, and of course, baking and cake pop decoration.
