Finding the Right Words: How to Comfort Someone in Grief

Adult / Personal and Professional Growth -
Winter/Spring 2026

When someone you care about is grieving, it can be hard to know what to say. This heartfelt workshop, inspired by the book Voices of Empathy, offers gentle, practical guidance on how to bring comfort, understanding and presence when words fall short. Led by author and Certified Emotion Code Practitioner Damaris Hernandez, you’ll explore what to say - and what not to say - in those tender moments of loss. Through real-life stories, reflection and compassionate discussion, you’ll discover how empathy can transform awkward silence into meaningful support. Whether you’ve experienced loss yourself, walking alongside someone who is hurting or simply want to grow in emotional awareness, this class will help you find confidence in your ability to show up for others.
