She is a member of the National Genealogical Society and a member of and contractor for the Association of Professional Genealogists. She organizes the latter's booths at national genealogy events. In those rare instances when she is not scrutinizing 1830s land deeds, she enjoys traveling or playing in the backyard with her family.
