  • Escape Room in a Box

    Work your way through a series of puzzles and ciphers to be the first team to help solve the super secret spy mission! You'll need to work as a team through these hands-on activities, using plenty of critical thinking and problem-solving skills! The puzzles will be fun for all ages and prizes will be awarded for fast finishers! Pizza and water will be served at 5:30pm and the contest will begin at 6pm. Teams must contains two to four members, and the minimum age to participate is eight. Complete one registration for each team. Children must attend with an adult.
  • Fun with Fondue!

    Are you looking for something different to enjoy for dinner? Try fondue! Any time is the right time for fondue, whether with family, guests, or as a party. In this class, we'll create fondues from around the world, including traditional cheese, classic Swiss cheese, beef bourguignon, crab, bleu cheese, and tempura. We'll pair the dips with delectable bits of breads and dip fruits, cakes, and brownies in dessert fondues. This class is open to all ages, but children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. A $15 supply fee is due to the instructor in class.
  • RVTC's The Wizard of Oz

    The yellow brick road winds its way through Shakopee this summer with RVTC's production of The Wizard of Oz! Follow Dorothy (and Toto, too!) on her journey over the rainbow into the wonderful Land of Oz! The young girl from Kansas must travel with her new friends through Oz to get to the Emerald City, hoping that upon arrival the Wizard will grant them their wishes. This delightful stage adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s beloved tale, featuring the iconic musical score from the MGM film, tells the story of self-sufficiency, friendship and belonging. Auditions will be held May 21-23 at Shakopee High School. If necessary, callbacks will be held on May 24. Please prepare a monologue and vocal selection to perform at auditions. All participants need to register through Shakopee Community Education. Students (ages 10+) who register are guaranteed a role in the show. Individuals who are 16 and older may audition for a principal role (registration required). Those who do not receive a principal role will be offered a spot in the ensemble. Parents of participants ages 10-15, please plan to attend a mandatory parent meeting on June 5 at 6pm in the Saber Community Room at Shakopee High School. Parents of participants ages 16-18 are welcome to attend, as well. Of course, the show can’t go on without volunteers! More information will be shared during rehearsals.   • Shakopee Community Ed Color Run

    Get splashed with color as you support a great cause! You'll run or walk through eight color stations on our one-mile course around Sun Path Elementary. The registration fee includes a white t-shirt with this year's race logo, refreshments and an opportunity to explore our exciting summer offerings. This is an untimed, non-competitive event that focuses on fun, fitness, and community. We encourage fun costumes, themes, and all kinds of silliness. Strollers are allowed, but please leave your pets at home. All proceeds from this event fund financial assistance for Shakopee residents to participate in Community Education classes that promote academic, social, and personal growth. Additional Event Features: 1/4-mile fun run for kids five and under. This portion of the event is free and no registration is required. Book exchange for children and adults. Bring your gently used books and exchange them for something new to you!   • Ties & Tiaras Ball

    We are getting ready to roll out the red carpet for an unforgettable evening of fun and elegance at the Ties & Tiaras Ball! Bring your special someone to dance the night away with as you create lifelong memories together! The Ties & Tiaras Ball will feature dancing with family-friendly music, games, light refreshments, door prizes, amazing Hollywood-themed decorations, and photo ops - all included in the price of admission! Professional photos will be available for purchase. This year's theme will be Hollywood Glam, so get ready to dress to impress! Those who are signed up by February 5 will receive their event tickets in the mail. Families signed up after that date will not receive tickets. Tickets are not required to enter the event, but are just a fun way to get excited for the ball. Please choose ONE family member to enroll. You'll enter the information for additional family members during the registration process.
